Here is a small selection of what the riders and volunteers had to say about their experiences with AngelRide 2009.
"I had an amazing experience!! Cannot thank you enough for such a well run, top notch beautiful experience." Kevin - HOP specialist and first-time rider
"I had a great weekend! I met a few new people and saw some "once a year" friends again. I don't know if you were able to catch the rainbow after dinner at Camp. I went back to the cabin circle before going to the theater and there was a rainbow overhead. My thoughts were that Camp was the pot of gold, but what really shocked me was when the first song was 'Somewhere over The Rainbow.' (How do you arrange these events?!)" Alan - 5th year rider
"My heart is so full from this past weekend and I am so much in awe of this incredible event that words are inadequate. It is a privilege to be associated with everyone involved!!" John - 2nd year rider
"Thanks for letting us help in making the magic happen again this year, it is magic you know!" Don - Rider
"Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!! My friends also had a great time and want to do it again next year!! I signed up at the finish!! I even got a picture taken with Angel This definitely was a life changing event for me and I have you to thank for it. I hope to see you soon!!" Mickey - Rider
"It was an epic weekend and adventure. Every time I go to camp, or am around the loving family of camp, I can't help but feel at peace and loved. The people that I met this weekend were incredible and full of spirit. Once again, camp has left me breathless. I was blown away by the energy that every single person had and the passion for camp. Every time I come to camp, I leave with a greater sense of appreciation. Thank you very much for an incredibly well put together and loving weekend. I wish that I could be at or surrounded by camp on a daily basis!" Katherine - Rider
"This is my second year involved in AngelRide. Recently I was asked by a man who was dying to think about the "ten best days of my life," not the ten most important, not the ten most influential, but the ten best days where you lie down at night thinking about how wonderful the day was and how you can't wait to experience it again. It is easy to say that the first day rides of AngelRide have safely secured a spot in those ten best days." Arthur - 2nd year rider
"As a first timer, I was 'gobsmacked' (as my people would say) at how easy the volunteers made everything look - from the chefs to the repair crews right on up the logistic chain to the event organizers. It seemed so effortless, and most of the time I felt I was along for the ride!" Nicolas - Motocrew volunteer
"While this is a lot of work on Memorial Day weekend, I think it's well worth the effort and it's become "what I do" on Memorial Day Weekend. I couldn't imagine it any other way now." Brian - bike tech
"How I benefited from the Angel Ride: I know at this point it pobably sounds cliched but AngelRide was everything I expected and 1,000 times more. When we first decided we were going to do it, I thought, 'Hey that will be cool, we could get some good miles in and ride on roads we never have.' Well now that I look back on it, I realize it was not a bike ride, and it was not an event for only people with road bike and fancy gear. No, in fact it was a two-day self-reflection period, where we realized that that the struggles that we face in our daily lives are negligible compared to the strugles that a sick child and their family must face. I also learned that this event was about supporting each other/others that had lost a member of their family. So many people there rode with a purpose so much deeper than ours. That is why next year I will ride with a purpose so much deeper than ours from last year. Next year I hope to ride this event with the purpose of supporting children, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles who have suffered the loss of a loved one, or suffered from an illness themselvs or who have come out on top and learned to combat their diseases both physicly and mentaly with the help of the camp." Evan - 15-year-old rider
